The “super principal” retires: Maurizio Driol has managed 29 schools

Until 31 August he will direct the comprehensive institute of Sedegliano

SEAT. The “super principal” Maurizio Driol, 64, has been in school for 45 years and 31 of which spent in a managerial career, is retiring. He had already risen to the honors of the national news for having held the Italian record, in 2017, for managing 29 institutes in 11 different municipalities, with 3,200 students and 450 teachers.

Until 31 August, Driol will hold the role of school director of the inclusive Institute of Sedegliano, which with the training offer includes the nursery, elementary and middle schools of five municipalities (Basiliano, Flaibano, Coseano, Mereto di Tomba and Sedegliano) .

Tomorrow his last faculty board and the official greeting to all teachers and staff.

“Born for school”, this is how the principal Driol could be defined, who leaves a great void in the school world, loved and respected by all, a tireless worker with Saturdays and Sundays locked in his office. Driol is one of the last leaders of his generation who has always placed the student at the center of his “mission”. And it is precisely when he enters to greet the children in the classrooms that all his love for them emerges, connecting with the complicated emotional world of the students.

A man who loves art and music, as well as scientific, literary, technological and motor disciplines, which he has always supported with his passion.

He is highly appreciated by both the teaching staff and his students, who have always respected and esteemed him so much that they dedicated a particular greeting concert to him. The “super principal” Driol was moved by the event, offered by the students of the secondary school of Basiliano, an excellence that counts important prizes and recognitions.

“We are grateful to the manager Maurizio Driol – affirms Dino Giacomuzzi mayor of Sedegliano, the Institute’s headquarters – for having been able to guide the ICS with great intelligence, passion and dedication, making the school make a qualitative leap over the years, giving the possibility for teachers and students to experience the territory directly, discovering and enhancing the traditions and beauties of our countries, involving local associations.

With the latter, in fact, there has been a great collaboration – underlines Giacomuzzi – to implement projects that have left a mark and are a flagship of our municipalities. Finally, the municipal administrations of the district would like to thank Driol from the heart who leaves in this Institute with his teachers and the numerous interventions in the school and outside, a trace of great prestige that will be remembered with pride by future generations ».
