The taxman according to Forza Italia: flat tax for the middle class, no to property, lowering taxes on businesses

by admin

“The middle class pays for everyone.” The Forza Italia tax reform starts from this assumption, which speaks of growth as a priority and signals the “duty to lower taxes”. No to the increase in taxes, no to patrimonial, no to new taxes on the house and no to taxes on families. The package of tax reforms developed by Forza Italia were presented by Antonio Tajani, the Italian national coordinator, together with a group of party representatives. The slogan chosen for the initiative, which dominates on some signs displayed on the speakers’ bench, is “Less taxes, more growth”. According to Forza Italia, in fact, growth is the priority. The objective is aimed at the fact that taxes and bureaucracy discourage free initiative and today it is the productive class that pays for everyone. “We need to put our companies in a position to grow and create value”, explain the Italian parliamentarians.

Tajani: “No to property, reduce corporate taxes”

«When taxes are exaggerated – warns Tajani live on Facebook – they produce the opposite effect with respect to what should be the payment of a fair contribution by citizens and businesses to the state. The Democratic Party asks for inheritance taxes and we, on the other hand, are against it ». Forza Italia, says Tajani, wants the “tax pax, which does not mean amnesty. In order to restart the economy, it is necessary to reduce the taxes that concern businesses ».

Promote post-pandemic growth

«We are for growth. The pressure on the middle class must be eased. In Italy too many taxes are paid and, after the economic crisis following the pandemic, a streamlining and simplification of the fiscal framework is needed in order to start again. The priority is to foster post-pandemic growth and accompany the rebound of the economy ”, underlines Alessandro Cattaneo, deputy and head of all Forza Italia departments. «We have prepared a document drawn up jointly by our parliamentary groups in the House and Senate which we will deposit in the Finance committees. Here – explains Cattaneo – we will then try to reach a tax reform agreement which is among the priorities of the Draghi government, as well as of Forza Italia “,

Flat tax for the middle class

«It is a decisive job for us – added Cattaneo – to have a taxman that helps to create wealth. With us there will never be property, inheritance or home taxes, nor an increase in overall taxation. We propose a flat tax for the middle class, a group of citizens equal to 13% of Italians who today pay 60% of taxes ». These resources, Cattaneo said, “must be freed, because only in this way can the country’s GDP start up again. We have therefore prepared an articulated reform of the personal income tax which provides for three brackets, of 15, 23 and 33%, which would allow Italians to give two months more salaries ». The only tax deemed fair, explains Cattaneo, “is that for the giants of the web, in addition to the revision of the many tax deductions that have become stratified over the years, alongside the reorganization of local additional charges”. And he adds: “In my personal opinion, I think it is also desirable to review the many money allocated today for citizenship income”.

Reform for real growth

«The jumble of rules that regulate the Italian tax authorities has flooded the system and exacerbated very serious shortcomings. Italy is divided in half: those who are well continue to feel better and better, those in suffering risk getting worse and worse. It is time to reverse the course, and move from happy degrowth to real growth, starting with the tax reform to help families and businesses. It is a priority of the government, it is a fixed point for Forza Italia, ”says Senator Massimo Ferro, head of the economy department of Forza Italia.
