Li Hongzhong was re-elected as Tianjin Secretary, and Zhao Fei, former member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee, was listed. When Zhao Fei was appointed as the deputy director of the Municipal People’s Congress, there were rumors that he was involved in the Sun Lijun case.
According to Tianjin official media reports, the new Tianjin Standing Committee members are Li Hongzhong, Zhang Gong, Jin Xiangjun, Li Jun, Chen Fukuan, Liu Guiping, Ji Guoqiang, Lian Maojun, Wang Tingkai, Zhou Derui, Wang Xu (Manchu), Shen Lei (female), and Wang Lijun. . Wang Xu, Shen Lei, and Wang Lijun are new recruits.
Ma Shunqing, Yu Yunlin, and Zhao Fei resigned from the Tianjin Municipal Standing Committee, and all three were appointed as deputy directors of the Tianjin Municipal People’s Congress in February this year.
Among them, Zhao Fei, who was born in 1964, used to hold the power of politics and law in Tianjin, but now he is only 58 years old and has been transferred to an idle position such as the People’s Congress, which attracts attention.
On February 21, an analysis article by Radio Free Asia columnist Gao Xin stated that there is only one case of Zhao Fei, the 58-year-old secretary of the provincial political and legal committee who was transferred to a second-line post. The Tianjin political and legal king Zhao Fei’s early retirement to the second line is undoubtedly an “unconventional” operation, which is more fortunate than for good.
Another Gaoxin article on February 18 quoted sources as saying that Zhao Fei was under internal review because of his involvement in the “political gang” of former Deputy Minister of Public Security Sun Lijun, but it has not been officially announced yet. And Li Hongzhong, the current secretary of the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee, who has a close relationship with Zhao Fei, is also inseparable.
Li Hongzhong has always been accused of being a chameleon. He turned out to be the secretary of the princeling Li Tieying, and was promoted by Huang Liman, Jiang Zemin’s mistress.
Zhao Fei worked very hard in persecuting Falun Gong by following Jiang Zemin’s group. In July 2014, after Zhao Fei took office as the director of Tianjin Public Security, he once clamored for “a reward of 10,000 yuan for arresting a Falun Gong member”, which led to an escalation of the persecution of Falun Gong in Tianjin detention centers and prisons.
