The wave of hospitalizations in Ulss 2 is rising. More than two hundred beds occupied

by admin

Third consecutive week of growth in cases: yesterday another 335 positives. Hospitalization at November levels, queues for tampons

TREVISO. Another 335 positives in the last 24 hours in the province of Treviso: the epidemic is running and begins to weigh down the hospital framework. Yesterday, for the first time in more than a month, the beds occupied by Covid patients in Ulss 2 returned to over two hundred – putting together non-critical areas, intensive care, community hospitals – and tomorrow San Camillo will also reopen, with 36 beds reserved for coronavirus patients.

The trend

The curve of the occupancy of the beds is comparable today to the one we had in November. When there was no talk of the red zone or even of the orange, and the restrictions in Veneto were much milder. And we are still far from the peak of admissions recorded in December, when Ulss 2 had almost six hundred beds occupied by Covid patients, of which about fifty in intensive care. There is, however, a difference: the spread of the English variant, more contagious, currently responsible for about 70% of new cases, and therefore to be stemmed as soon as possible. Also due to the spread of the mutation, cases are increasing day by day, transferring a physiological percentage of positives to hospitals. Here, then, that in a few days the Covid Hospital of Vittorio Veneto has been filled (again), which today welcomes 82 positives in the non-critical area plus another seven in resuscitation. Numbers that led the Ulss to the decision to reopen the Covid wing of the hospitals of Montebelluna (24 places plus 6 in intensive care) and Conegliano (another 24 places, plus 4 in intensive care). From tomorrow, in addition, the Covid Hospital del San Camillo will also reopen: an entire wing for patients affected by the coronavirus, with 36 beds. Intensive care, meanwhile, has also risen to the values of the beginning of February: yesterday three new entries, in total 24 places occupied by Covid patients.

Assault ai covid point

The province of Treviso recorded more than three hundred cases for three consecutive days: it hadn’t happened since the period 11-13 January, when, however, the curve was starting to drop. In the last week, almost two thousand (1,917) Treviso people discovered that they had been infected, bringing the total of positives from the beginning of the emergency to 68,349: one person out of twelve. The number of victims remains low, also and above all thanks to the vaccination campaign conducted in the nursing homes, where all the guests have been immunized. The increase in cases is also visible from another phenomenon: the queues at Covid Points to undergo the rapid swab and, if positive, the molecular. Yesterday up to two hours of waiting at the former Treviso Customs Office. Given the greater influx of people, Casier’s Covid Point will also reopen tomorrow, again in drive-in mode (Viale Mattioli in Dosson). –
