Alex Augusto Menjívar has been captured by order of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR), accused of the crime of Tax Evasion for an amount of $69,392.59.00.
According to the authorities, in 2019, he declared with false information before the Ministry of Finance in order not to make VAT payments.
According to Salvadoran law, tax evasion is when you omit to declare taxable events or declare costs, expenses, purchases or non-existent tax credits, with the purpose of evading taxes and can be punished with imprisonment from 4 to 8 years.
