In the town hall square they put “auctioned” the planet Earth (an inflatable globe, like Chaplin in “The great dictator”) contested by banks, multinationals, oil companies. In piazza Galimberti, under Duccio Galimberti’s balcony, they recalled that climate justice is also social justice. Then in Piazza Europa, around the (extinguished) fountain, they talked about wars and non-renewable and polluting raw materials, while in Viale Angeli they colored the pavement with chalk. Finally, at the River Park they concluded the procession around the city with music and debates.
This morning (Friday 25 March), in Cuneo as in the rest of the world, the marches of young people for the climate, the “Fridays for future” that were missing in the city last September, are back. Approximately 150 participants, mainly students from the two-year course and the “De Amicis” high school. All with signs, banners and faces colored green to ask politics and adults for “quick and concrete solutions”, given that climate change is “an emergency that we do not face because it is difficult to find the culprits, which often are all of us. And because our attention now goes to the aftermath of the pandemic and the ongoing war in Ukraine, one of the many on the planet ».
