With the participation of 65 athletes from the municipalities of Ezequiel Zamora, Libertador, Punceres and Maturín, this weekend the state classic and blitz chess tournament was held in the Sports Center hall.

This was reported by Miguel Fuentes, president of Indem, who pointed out that in the Classic Sub-20 modality, over 7 rounds, the champion was Carlos Padrino, escorted by Daniel Ayala and Jenrry Ramírez.

In the women’s category, Valeria Mayz was the winner, leaving María González and Deylin Rivas in second and third place respectively.

In the U-16 category, Luciano Romero won in the men’s category and Victoria La Greca in the women’s category, while in the U-18 category, first place went to Víctor La Greca and Deylin Rivas.

Finally, in the blitz (or rapid) tournament, which was played over 9 rounds, the podium was made up of José Jiménez, Jenrry Ramírez and José Caña.

Miguel Fuentes indicated that this activity was organized by the Monagas Chess Association, with the support of Governor Ernesto Luna, through Indem, and the sports institutes of the participating municipalities.
