On the night between Wednesday and Thursday, a concert of anti-theft sirens woke the residents of via Garioi Alti and surroundings with a start. In the following hours the carabinieri recovered part of the stolen goods

SAN POLO DI PIAVE. Burst raids by thieves in San Polo di Piave, the thieves strike with the favor of darkness. Several residents have reported receiving the unwelcome visit in the middle of the night. Particularly targeted were the houses in via Garioi Alti, a secondary municipal road that runs alongside the fields and some houses.

The gang struck around midnight yesterday Wednesday 17: houses were visited and some cars robbed. According to the first reports, the thieves then went away through the same countryside from which they had arrived, with a not particularly large loot, put to flight by the ringing of various perimeter and domestic alarms. Yesterday morning word of mouth began among the residents.

Unfortunately there was no lack of damage caused by their passage. The criminals have in fact tried to enter not only inside the homes of the unsuspecting owners, but also tried to steal the cars present, even breaking the windows. A bag was removed from a car, which yesterday the carabinieri – warned by the residents of the night blitz – found not far from the raid: inside also the owner’s smartphone, of which the criminals would be unpacked almost immediately to avoid the risk of being located via the GPS.
