For the whole of 2023, the manual collection of wood that has fallen into the riverbed or transported near the banks in state-owned areas of the hydrographic network of rivers is authorized for individual use only for family use (personal and domestic):

The communication must indicate:

the name of the applicant and his address and telephone number; the watercourse, the locality and the section concerned, with specification of the length in meters or areal extension; the period in which the collection will take place.

The method of collection must be exclusively for family use (personal and domestic) and must comply with the following requirements:

This measure refers to all the watercourses falling within the hydrographic basins of the Province of Ravenna, Forlì-Cesena and Bologna under the jurisdiction of the undersigned Territorial Office, with the exception of embanked stretches; the sampling must concern flown wood that has already been uprooted (the cutting of dead, dry or perishing plants standing or lying down, but still rooted is excluded) for a quantity not exceeding 250 quintals per year, and must be aimed at self-consumption on a non-profit basis ; the activity can be carried out with the aid of means of transport using only the existing roads and accesses without involving changes or alterations to the state of the places and, in any case, without accessing the riverbed with motor vehicles; existing tracks and roads must be used to access the intervention area and the state of the places must not be altered in any way; the cutting of fallen plants, to reduce their size, can only be performed using a chainsaw or other manual cutting tool; the collection of the timber must also include the removal of the connected branches; all the necessary precautions must be taken to guarantee the safety of the operators and public safety with particular regard to the presence of flash floods; all the activities inherent and consequent to the collection will be fully borne by those who carry out the collection itself; this is valid only for the hydraulic aspects regardless of the authorizations that may be requested by other Administrations concerned; compensation for any damages that may be caused during this collection will be the responsibility of the executors of the collection itself; for the areas falling within the regional system of protected areas, the opinion of the competent body must be acquired beforehand at the start of the works.

The authorization methods for the maintenance of portions of state-owned appurtenances for which the neighboring owners intend to proceed with the selective cutting of trees and shrubs remain unchanged, which this Service issues with Executive Determination following a specific specific request pursuant to Royal Decree 523 /1904.
