Double Italian record for the blue. In the Italy medal table with 1 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronzes
Another silver medal arrives to increase Italy’s tally of podiums at the Tokyo Olympics. Unfortunately, that of gold has stopped from the first day but in the meantime the number of medals has now reached 12: 1 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronzes.
The last feat of the day of July 27 is signed by an Italian weightlifting, Giorgia Bordignon. The Italian surrendered only to the Canadian Charron, surprisingly giving an unexpected silver. Bordignon, in the 64 kg category, closed the race with a double Italian record: 104 kg in the snatch and 128 in the momentum.
The first medal came thanks to Maria Centracchio, third in 63 kilograms judo, after winning the match against Dutch Juul Franssen at the golden score.
The other medal came from the women’s sword team, which had been eliminated in the semifinals by Estonia. In the final for third place, the blue overcame China at the end of a very exciting match, which ended at 23-21.
