The Region obtains a derogation from the ecological flow norm. Bottacin: “It would have been harmful to the economy”

TREVISO. The ecological runoff, a European standard that would have placed a ceiling on water withdrawals from the Piave, did not come into force on January 1st, as was expected. Its application has been waived. The Piave has a guarantee, today, of 10 cubic meters of water per second, thanks to the minimum vital flow. With the ecological flow, the door would have had to increase up to 24 cubic meters.
