RONCADE. Here it is the project destined to eliminate forever the dangerous junction along the Treviso sea between Roncade and Vallio. Veneto Strade presented the plan in the Province and there it will now be examined by all the technicians of the bodies and companies on which the project will fall, primarily the administrations of Roncade and Monastier who have been waiting for the work for years.

The investment was announced two years ago and sees the Region in the front row with the operational arm of Veneto Strade for an expense amounting to 3.6 million euros. The amount was partly used for the design and a large part will be used for the construction of the work intended to secure one of the most critical traffic junctions in the hinterland of the capital.

Traffic at the junction between Vallio and Roncade today is managed through a complicated and staggered system of junctions, mission and exit lanes that divide the flows between Treviso mare, via Zermanesa and the road to Monastier. One day the entire current system will be canceled and replaced by a large roundabout that will rise where today there is the chaotic confluence between Treviso mare and via Zermanesa.
The roundabout will be built on the regional route, it will be large and will also include the grafting of the road to and from Monastier. The current exit (and entrance) of Vallio will be closed and from Monastier towards the Treviso sea it will end in a closed road. Via Gaetano Zampini, the road that leads to Meolo along the Treviso sea will also be connected to the roundabout. Everything will be accompanied by flower beds and green plantings.
So you will have to put an end to accidents, traffic jams, accentuated dangers especially in the summer when the Treviso sea becomes a road with very high traffic every day, with motorbikes and mopeds to mix with the already heavy traffic of car vans and especially trucks. The intervention was already one of the points of the then president of the province Leonardo Muraro who, years ago, when he was ready to put money and workers on the plate, was forced to block everything following the cuts to the provincial budgets imposed by the new legislation that later became the “Del Rio reform”.

The project thus remained closed in the drawer, like so many other wishes of the motorists and the municipal administration of Roncade who every year counted the spectacular (and unfortunately often serious) accidents that had as their theater that stretch of the road to the sea. Now it will take a few weeks to arrive at the definitive opinion of the Via Provincial Commission. Once obtained, if grandparents are running smoothly, the construction site could start. Between bureaucracy and obvious tenders we will not talk about it before next autumn, or maybe even next year.
