Treviso, the No vaxes return to demonstrate: Piazza dei Signori will be cordoned off

On Saturday 31 July the new protest. Meanwhile, Devis Bonaldo, leader of the deniers, takes Covid but leaves the hospital

TREVISO. The no “Green pass”, “No mask” and “No vax” return to manifest. And once again they have chosen as the setting for the demonstration of dissent, the “living room” of Treviso, Piazza dei Signori, to have maximum visibility. But the barriers are ready – leaked from the security committee organized yesterday by the police – to prevent too many people, like last Saturday, from pouring into the square.

Spotlight on the slice of the population and categories that do not fear gatherings or the umpteenth wave of Covid, but who consider vaccine, mask, Green pass, limitations of personal freedom not tolerable. In the meantime, however, the news leaked that Devis Bonaldo, the organizer of the “No mask” events in Conegliano and Vittorio Veneto “In the square for freedom”, presented himself to the emergency room of the Vittorio Veneto hospital with symptoms of Covid and its pulmonary consequences. And after the analysis that confirmed it, he signed to go home.

But let’s go in order. The demonstration, so far, has not been announced as it had happened in Conegliano a few months ago, when the “No masks” had been given clear indications on how to manage the initiative and the risks they would incur. For this reason, the police headquarters and the prefecture do not have an interlocutor with whom to interact. Yesterday the Security Committee met and, on the agenda, there was also the demonstration. The fear is that last Saturday’s script will repeat itself, when two thousand people gathered in Piazza dei Signori, complete with footage from video surveillance cameras. A dangerous critical mass from a health point of view, due to the consequences of Covid, but also from public order. The prefect, Maria Rosaria Laganà, reiterated that the demonstration was not forewarned and that the promoters risk being denounced. “The initiative must take place in compliance with the precautions.” Ready, to prevent gatherings – last Saturday there were two thousand people – barriers to “channel” the demonstrators and be ready to prevent too many people from pouring into Piazza dei Signori.

In the next few hours the commissioner will draw up an ordinance to this, to avoid repeating the scenes of last Saturday and the public order and security service will be set up, in order to avoid the non-use of a mask and guarantee the safety of people. The police station reiterates that there are criminal responsibilities to which promoters are especially exposed.

The fear of the police is that the demonstration will be attended by infiltrators of extremist fringes who light dangerous “fuses”. The police station has identified some organizers of last Saturday’s initiative, who have already been reported and reported to the judicial authority. “We will do what needs to be done,” Prefect Laganà says, when asked how the situation will be handled. The promoters of the “no Green pass” meeting of other Venetian municipalities, for fear of complaints, are warning the police, but the prefect makes it known that the terms have in any case expired.

In the meantime, Devis Bonaldo, organizer of the demonstration on Sunday 18 April in Conegliano and of the subsequent one in Vittorio, who made arguments about the violation of Covid regulations and angered the prefect, contracted the coronavirus, so much so that he presented himself at the Vittorio Veneto emergency room . Bonaldo has always professed for “vaccination freedom”, claiming that he is not a “no mask”. The same thing he said yesterday on the phone. To the question: “Is it true that you have contracted Covid?” he replied with a “These are data that do not concern you, these questions bother me” replying that he is “against these gene therapies that are not vaccine” and adding “I’m fine”, even though he was struggling to speak. It seems that Bonaldo has asked for help from the mayor of Santa Lucia di Piave and general practitioner Riccardo Szumski, who however remains confidential: “I am not required to disclose information regarding the privacy of people.” But to the direct question: “So you didn’t cure Bonaldo?” He did not answer.
