TREVISO. The name had already been circulating for a few weeks, official confirmation yesterday. Doctor Stefano Formentini has been promoted to the health management of Ulss 2. From May 1st he will take up service replacing Doctor Livio Dalla Barba, whose rumors of a departure from the scene had become increasingly insistent in recent days. Current hospital director of Ca ‘Foncello, Formentini will leave that post to rise to the top of Ulss 2. Doctor Michelangelo Salemi, currently medical director of the Vittorio Veneto hospital, will be in charge of the hospital management of Ca’ Foncello.
THE PROFILE
Stefano Formentini, 58, graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Padua, specialized in Hygiene and Preventive Medicine Epidemiology and Public Health in Trieste, as well as in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at the Salesian Pontifical University of Rome and in Legal Medicine at the ‘University of Udine. In the long curriculum, prominent roles stand out, already obtained in the management field for the Treviso health sector and beyond. From 18 July 2016 he held the position of director of the medical management of the Treviso hospital, but his professional activity in the Marca began in 1996, at the Conegliano hospital, within the hospital medical management.
Furthermore, the solid knowledge, studded with collaborations, with the general director of Ulss 2 Francesco Benazzi emerges when he was still driving the former Ulss 15 Alta Padovana. From 2008 to 2016, Dr. Formentini in fact held the role of medical director of the hospital of Cittadella and for a period also the function of medical director and subsequently of the hospital function. «To Dr. Stefano Formentini, my close collaborator for many years» comments the general manager Benazzi «I send my best wishes for the new important position of medical director. His professionalism will be a precious resource in this difficult period ». There is no shortage of words of esteem for the now former health director Livio Dalla Barba: “A heartfelt thanks for having supported me with competence and preparation since September 2019, helping me to manage the difficult period of the pandemic”.
THE SCENERY
Next and last box to be filled in: the management of the social sector of the Ulss 2. In pole position the head of Microbiology of Ca ‘Foncello Roberto Rigoli, 64 years of which 33 spent in the laboratory, and for a period also the 14 microbiologies of Veneto. In his new role as director of social work, Dr. Rigoli will have to manage a social budget of 41 million euros, the smallest slice of the 1.6 billion budget of the Ulss 2, but crucial since it concerns the private social sector, the segment of fragility, pathways for non-acute or post-acute patients managed in conditions of discomfort, and therefore relationships with nursing homes, centers for disability and developmental age. An appointment which, as an expression of the territory, requires the mayors to express their approval. The administrative director Ulss 2 has already been announced: after the farewell of Annamaria Tomasella, who has become sub-commissioner for health of Molise, Dr. Patrizia Mangione has arrived. –
