The proposal: to use the statues of the warriors as identity icons of the people for the promotion of Sardinia

TOINO. Use the statues of Mont’e Prama as identity icons of a people, without sectarianism, for the promotion of Sardinia, its history, culture? This is the question that opened the program of the Sardinian Publishers Association, on the opening day of the 34th Turin Book Fair. The main event among those organized today by AES, “An island and its heroes”, curated with the Mont’e Prama Foundation, hosted the interventions of the archaeologist and academic Alberto Moravetti, the president of the Anthony Muroni Foundation and the president of the ‘AES Simonetta Castia, together with the music of Gavino Murgia.

The meeting was also the preview of the “Mediterranea. Cultures, Exchanges, Passages ”, scheduled from 14 to 21 July in Alghero. The event, in the live stage of the OVAL Pavilion, preceded the two appointments scheduled in the AES stand. At 3 pm Daniela Mena, editorial director of the Chiari Microeditoria fair and Franca Carboni, neuropsychiatrist, drew a parallelism between Grazia Deledda and DH Lawrence, edited by Ilisso Edizioni.

The second meeting of the afternoon, curated by Carlo Delfino publisher, hosted Laura Maria Freire and Valentina Vinci for the presentation of the children’s book “There is another color”. The Sardinian Publishers Association, present again this year with its own stand at the Turin Show, gathered thirty publishers and over two thousand titles, as well as taking care of the program of events at the institutional stand of the Sardinia Region.
