Two months after Christmas it is already time for illuminations: in Udine the installation in the streets of the center has begun

UDINE. Christmas is two months away, but the festive atmosphere is already beginning to breathe in the city. Yes, because in the center – via Cosattini, largo dei Pecile, piazza XX Settembre – the lights have already been installed.

In other areas, such as via Aquileia, assembly was taking place on Sunday 24 October. Soon then, as confirmed by the commissioner for Productive Activities, Tourism and Major Events Maurizio Franz, they will also be positioned in the area of ​​the train station “as a sign of attention”.

What Udine will experience, therefore, will be «a Christmas of lights, colors and animation». «Ad hoc illuminations – continues the commissioner – will be positioned to enhance Palazzo D’Aronco, Palazzo Morpurgo and Piazza Duomo.

Video mapping activities will be carried out on the castle and in Piazza San Giacomo and, thanks also to the support of private sponsors, Porta Aquileia, Torre Manin, Torre Villalta, the Torre di Santa Maria will be illuminated to offer tourists a beautiful business card ».

This year the skating rink in Piazza Venerio will return “element of great attraction for families and children”, which contributes to making the atmosphere in the city more evocative, the market created by Confartigianato and the two Christmas fir trees donated by the Municipality of Tarvisio in piazza Duomo and in via Lionello.

The Municipality – which has also made a contribution of 60 thousand euros available to villages and associations for the creation of lights and decorations in addition to the funds destined for the organization of Christmas preparations and initiatives – plans to set up fireworks for New Year’s Eve (without barrels) on the castle.

Too soon, again, to hypothesize the organization of initiatives in the square. “It will depend on how the situation of Covid evolves – concludes the commissioner – also because you cannot let your guard down and in any case all situations of gathering must be avoided”. –
