Two mountain rescue interventions in Canavese between the Orco and Soana Valleys

by admin

A call from the via ferrata of Pont Canavese and an injured person in the Soana Valley along the route to the Alpe Andorina

RONCO CANAVESE. Several interventions managed and solved by the Alpine and Speleological Rescue this weekend, including two in Alto Canavese.
On Saturday 22 January a new call came from the via ferrata of Pont Canavese, where a woman fell in the overhanging section of the route, suffering some bruises and getting stuck on the wall. It was necessary to request the intervention of the Regional Helicopter Rescue Service, whose Alpine Rescue technician recovered the woman with mountaineering techniques, and then proceeded with the recovery by winch for hospitalization. Despite the accident, the woman correctly wore the via ferrata kit, whose fall dissipation mechanism worked, avoiding worse consequences.
At the same time, in the municipality of Ronco Canavese a hiker reported a suspected fracture of an ankle along the path to the Alpe Andorina. A ground rescue team was sent to the scene, stabilizing the injured person on a stretcher and transporting him downstream where an ambulance was waiting for hospitalization.
