Udine station armored for the No Green pass event: only those who have a ticket will enter

by admin

UDINE. Wednesday 1 September, the day on which the Green Pass obligation on long-distance trains comes into force, could be a difficult day for those who have to travel by train. The groups opposed to green certification, in fact, have announced protests in 54 Italian railway stations, including Udine and Latisana, where hundreds of people are expected from the early afternoon.

The goal, according to the messages circulated on the net and in the cell phone chats, is to block the convoys. Appointment in front of the station – this is the program – and then “you go in and stay until the evening”.

“Won’t they let us go on the train without a slavery passport?” Then no one will leave »! you can read on one of the flyers relating to the initiative. In response to this, the authorities have decided to strengthen controls and to allow only passengers with tickets to enter the station.

In fact, the event (for which the Police Headquarters has not been given the notice required by law), in the event of numerous attendances, could cause significant critical issues from the point of view of public order and safety.

This is why on Tuesday 31 August the issue was addressed in the Prefecture within a specific Committee in which representatives of all the police forces took part (including specialties, such as the postal police and the railway police); the vicar of the commissioner, Giancarlo Conte; the councilor for safety, Alessandro Ciani; the mayor of Latisana, Daniele Galizio and the Trenitalia safety managers.

During the meeting, chaired by the prefect Massimo Marchesiello, some decisions were made in order to better manage the situation. First of all, the works that are underway in the square in front of the station will be temporarily suspended and the site, following an inspection carried out on Monday, has been fenced and secured.

Secondly, as the Prefect himself explains, “it will be possible to enter the station from a single entrance, located on the right, and only those with a travel document will be able to pass. Access to other people will not be allowed ».

The hope, the government representative emphasizes, is “that the demonstration will take place only outside, in an area on the left, because otherwise administrative sanctions will be triggered and, possibly, also criminal complaints, for example in the case of where there should be the interruption of a public service. Attention – he specifies – is and will be maximum ».

In addition to all the patrols present in the area, further reinforcements were requested, about twenty agents. There will also be local police with drones. Furthermore, as confirmed by the manager of the railway police department of the Fvg Luca Carocci, the surveillance will be strengthened, with respect to everyday life, even inside the station “where, among other things, there is also video surveillance. –
