Ukraine, army: Russian attack on Kiev rejected

Over 50 explosions in the capital are fought in the southern area

(ANSA) – ROME, FEBRUARY 26 – The Ukrainian armed forces have declared that they have repelled a night “attack” by Russian soldiers against one of their positions on Victory Avenue, one of the main arteries of Kiev. “The attack was repulsed,” the Ukrainian military said in a message on their Facebook account, without providing further details on the exact location of this clash.

Over 50 explosions and heavy machine gun rounds were reported in the Shulyavka areas and near the Kiev Zoo. Loud gunshots were also reported near the Beresteiska metro station, not far from a Ukrainian military facility. The Kyiv Independent reports it.

Violent clashes are reportedly taking place in the south of the Ukrainian capital. (HANDLE).
