NYT investigation into the 2019 attack in the last Isis stronghold
(ANSA) – NEW YORK, NOV 13 – The United States hid for years a raid in Baghuz, the last stronghold of Isis in Syria, in March 2019, in which dozens of civilians, mainly women and children, were killed. But now, for the first time, they admit it: 80 people died in the attack. An investigation by the New York Times reveals the minutes before the raid and the panic of the following ones, when the American forces realized the mistake. However, no independent investigation has ever been conducted into the incident.
The raid was carried out on the instructions of Task Force 9, a special operations unit which includes the Delta Force elite commando. (HANDLE).
