USA: California, oil slick possibly caused by an anchor ship

by admin

So far the spill has amounted to around three thousand barrels

(ANSA) – WASHINGTON, OCTOBER 05 – To cause the oil spill off California, which risks causing a new environmental catastrophe, could have been the anchor of one of the many ships waiting to enter the port of Los Angeles. It is one of the hypotheses of the investigators, while the investigations continue as well as the attempt to stem the oil spill. So far the spill has amounted to around three thousand barrels.

The alarm went off last Saturday when an offshore pipeline not far from the affected area – Huntington Beach – started leaking. Some beaches have been closed and several birds have been found dead on the shore during site inspections.
