The engine of the vaccination campaign slows down and consequently the regularization of over 50 years old not yet vaccinated loses speed despite the obligation introduced by the Draghi government. If February had opened with 3.066 million of anti-Covid injections in a week, the month ends with a volume of immunizations lower than a third (929mila). The descent is reflected in the special observed category, that of the over 50s: between January 28 and February 4, people in this age group who were convinced to be vaccinated had been 167milareduced to just 48.293 in the latest government report (February 19-25). In percentage it is a collapse of 70%.
Italians without vaccines are below 5 million
If you take into account the whole vaccinable audience, people over the age of 5 still without any dose of Covid vaccine are 4.847.910 (-191 thousand in one week). The age group where the unvaccinated are most numerous remains the pediatric one: 1,615,397, equal to 44% of the total number of children between 5 and 11 years old.
The erosion of over 50-year-old no vaxes stops
On the eve of the entry into force of the vaccination obligation for those who turned 50 (started on 1 February) there were 1.684 million people who had not started the anti-Covid path. As of February 25, the audience was reduced by 402mil units (now they are 1.282 million) but in the meantime the adhesion of the “dodgers” has slowed down: da 167.802 first weekly doses, it was passed in sequence to 111.836then to 73.951 and finally a 48.293 of the last seven days.
Until June 15 (therefore well beyond the end of the state of emergency on March 31), those over 50 can access workplaces only if in possession of the reinforced green pass (the green certification that is obtained only for vaccination or recovery and does not include performing a rapid or molecular antigen test). In the next few hours, the first doses of Novavax, the preparation using the recombinant protein technique, are coming: will it be able to convince those who have so far proved reluctant to be given an anti-Covid vaccine based on mRna technology?
