They drive the booster doses but also the first ones grow

CAGLIARI. Anti-Covid vaccinations on the rise in Sardinia. They pull the third doses, but there is also an increase in the first ones due to the entry into force of the super Green pass. In the week from 29 November to 5 December the inoculations on the island were a total of 75,805, of which 64,972 booster doses and 4,836 first doses. In the previous week, from 22 to 28 November, the total doses had been 53,216 doses, of which 44,514 boosters and 3,652 first inoculations. Yesterday, in the meantime, the Open day dedicated to mandatory third doses, therefore for health, school and law enforcement personnel, closed in Cagliari. For the occasion, 1,370 were administered in the hub of the Fair.

“This new increase is a very positive sign with repercussions on the current impact that Covid is having on hospitalizations”, comments the president of the Region Christian Solinas. In fact, he recalls, “the employment of intensive care units settles at 6% and hospitalizations in the medical area at 5%, both below the critical threshold”. However, the governor warns, “the virus remains a threat to the spread of variants. This is why the vaccine represents our strongest weapon and we will continue to strengthen the vaccination hubs and points throughout the territory in order to continue to defend the health of Sardinians and our economic and social fabric “.

The trend is also good for the health councilor Mario Nieddu, “above all because – he explains – it is in a particularly delicate phase due to the spread of the fourth wave in Europe and in some Italian regions”. In Sardinia, summarizes the commissioner, “2.7 million doses have been administered. The campaign machine works and we are strengthening the hubs in every respect to continue in the direction we have marked ». (HANDLE)
