Vaccini, the Ulss of Belluno: “It’s time for responsibility”

The health company at work to reach the non-immunized population: 19,000 letters are coming to as many citizens over 50 and to those recovered from Covid without a dose of reinforcement

BELLUNO. “Do not wait to get the vaccine, autumn is upon us and the risk of getting infected is increasing. It is the moment of responsibility ». The general director Maria Grazia Carraro launches for the umpteenth time the appeal to the Belluno people who have not yet joined the prophylaxis campaign against Covid to get vaccinated. “On August 19 last year”, he says, “there were only 25 positives in the province and no hospitalized, while today August 19, 2021 we have 165 infected and 8 inpatients. The virus today is more contagious and therefore we must run for cover ».

The provincial referent of free choice pediatricians, Giampaolo Risdonne, is also launching a targeted message. “Parents are often held back from vaccinating their children aged 12 and over by the many fake news they read and hear. If there are any doubts, talk to us, because immunizing children means not only protecting them from the disease that in the long run could become dangerous and aggressive even for children, but also blocking the spread of the virus. If the vaccine can create minimal side effects, even Covid, let’s remember, can do damage. In Italy to date 29 children have died from the Coronavirus ».

To convince the most uncertain group to get vaccinated, the Ulss together with the Prevention Department will send 19,000 letters to as many Belluno people over 50 and to those who, recovered from Covid, have not yet undergone the reinforcement dose. “A dose”, explains the director of Prevention, Sandro Cinquetti, “which serves to strengthen the immunity generated by having contracted the virus”. In addition, vaccination teams will also leave between September and October to reach the most disadvantaged areas of the province and collaborate with municipalities and family doctors. The aim is to arrive in November with the majority of the population vaccinated against Covid, “so as to be able to start the winter campaign against the flu and possibly subject people to the third dose of the anti Covid vaccine“, concludes Cinquetti.
