VAL DI ZOLDO

The Province of Belluno will fully finance the project for the safety of the Sp 251 of the Val di Zoldo, for an investment of 1 million 100 thousand euros. This is what emerged from the meeting between the president Roberto Padrin, the managing directors Fabio Luchetta (infrastructures) and Massimo Bortoluzzi (soil protection), and the head of Veneto Strade for Belluno Michele Artusato.

“We have decided to finance in advance the resources necessary for the safety project, out of the administration surplus,” explains the director Luchetta. «We were waiting for the relief funds of the December flood, but times seem to be long and in the meantime it is necessary to intervene in one of the most disadvantaged points of the Belluno road network. The provincial of Val di Zoldo remained closed for several weeks after the weather event last December, with considerable inconvenience for citizens and with a real risk of isolation for the entire valley. It is true that the road will pass to Anas with the reclassification, but the Province has a duty to listen to the needs of the territory and put in place the necessary resources to solve or alleviate any problems. And the problem of the Val di Zoldo is objectively a priority ».

The intervention project will be finalized in the coming weeks. «A complex intervention», explains the councilor Bortoluzzi, «because it affects the shaft of the Maè stream, which is why we had also involved the body in charge, namely the Civil Engineers. The failure on the 251 is caused by a watercourse and as such it would not be strictly provincial competence, but the need to secure the road, and to respond to the needs of the territory, is stronger than any question of competence. . The disruption affects a road that is still provincial at the moment and the future passage to Anas must not be an obstacle to intervening, because it will still remain an artery serving the inhabitants of the Val di Zoldo, essential for tourism purposes and which could also serve should any problems arise on the 203 Agordina ».
