“In this sequence, a professor reads a theme to the pupils. He’s really passionate about the person behind that test, ”says in the video Valerio Jalongo, director of Water, thirst teaches – A history of class. “It is one of the many scenes we have witnessed following a class for three years, from 2004 to 2007, in every moment”.
The documentary tells the story of Lopez, a retired professor, and of the 1st E class of the Roberto Rossellini institute in Rome, where he taught in the mid-2000s. Most of the pupils did not graduate and none of them are in the profession for which the school has prepared them. After fifteen years, he decides to see them again. The film will be in cinemas on 22, 23 and 24 November.
Valerio Jalongo is an Italian director and screenwriter. The latest films he has directed are The sense of beauty, art and science at CERN (2017) e School’s out (2010).
