An avalanche broke off shortly after 1pm in the Piccolo San Bernardo area, above La Thuile, in the Aosta Valley, overwhelming a group of skiers who were descending along a gully. Two were buried by the snow and subsequently extracted alive by the Aosta Valley Mountain Rescue: This was confirmed by Killy Martinet, president of the Piccolo San Bernardo cable cars.

It is the second accident of this kind in Valle d’Aosta in a few days: on November 29, between Cervinia and Valtourneche, a ski attendant, leonardo Pession, 58, was overwhelmed by an avalanche that hit the slope at over 3,000 meters. altitude, near the Grand Sommettaz ski lift, above Cime Bianche.
