On June 4, the outpatient department of the Dade Road General Hospital of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University (including the general outpatient clinics, fever clinics, emergency clinics, and outpatient clinics of the Yanjiang Road Campus, the Comprehensive Building of the Yanjiang Campus, and Haiyin Hospital Medical technical examination, outpatient treatment, health checkup, etc.) will be suspended for one day.

On June 3, Lei Chunliang, Dean of the Eighth Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, reiterated to the media that compared with the previous epidemic in Guangzhou, the currently circulating Indian variant virus is more virulent and spreads faster.
The Indian variant virus has spread to at least 50 countries around the world.
