(ANSA) – WASHINGTON, June 17 – The US has lifted the sanctions on a relative of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, as part of American efforts to encourage the regime’s dialogue with the opposition. The Treasury Department has blacklisted Carlos Erik Malpica Flores, former finance minister and former executive of the state-owned oil company PDVSA, as well as granddaughter of first lady Cilia Flores, from where he had been since 2017.
