“This scene represents the spirit of the film: the continuity between the documentary filmed by its protagonists and the film itself”, says in the video Vincenzo Lauria, director of Towards the night. “To distinguish the two parts, I used the alternation between color and black and white. But the shooting style is identical ”.
The film tells the story of Maryam, an Iranian girl who is making a documentary about Anna, an elegant homeless man from Rome who speaks for visions and omens. During the filming he falls in love with one of his collaborators, Hesam, and the two move to live together. When their relationship becomes difficult, they discover that the answers they seek are in Anna’s prophecies.
Vincenzo Lauria is an Italian director. Towards the night is his first feature film.
