The defendant argued in court that he never wanted to kill anyone
VISTROIO. The Turin Court of Assizes of Appeal confirmed the sentence of 21 years and 4 months of imprisonment for Alberto Diatto, a 62-year-old former nurse tried on charges of killing an acquaintance, the 57-year-old Roberto Moschini, using the hidden blade in an animated stick. The man was called to answer for premeditated murder.
The crime was committed on the night between 19 and 20 July 2019 in the victim’s home in Vistrorio.
The accused, defended by lawyers Claudio Novaro and Alberto Metallo, rejected the accusation and during the hearing took the floor for a spontaneous statement, claiming that he went to see Moschini and that he was attacked. “I’m innocent – he said – and I never wanted to kill anyone”. The victim’s family members filed a civil action with the lawyer Paolo Campanale.
