Viverone, the Punta Becco kiosk reopens with the management of Piazza Ferrando

Assignment to the Ivrea company. Fee of 12 thousand euros per year for a duration of six plus six

VIVERONE

There is a new management for the municipally owned kiosk and the green area of Punta Becco, one of the most evocative views of Lake Viverone, at the end of the walk in front of the pier for sailing boats. The Municipality had launched a call for tenders (the second within a couple of years) which had seen the participation of four companies. The best offer was that of Piazza Ferrando srl in Ivrea. “A management – informs the mayor Renzo Carisio – that over 12 years (six plus another six renewables) will bring in the coffers of the Municipality a greater collection of 114,000 euros compared to the two previous conductions”. Previously, the rent was 2,500 euros per year. The first ended after a long dispute, with complaints, which began in 2016, at the end of which the Municipality was the winner of all the lawsuits brought by Gerardo Etere. The second management, on the other hand, had been resolved through assisted negotiation. “Piazza Ferrando will pay 12 thousand euros a year into the municipal coffers – adds Carisio – and will carry out some interventions to improve the structure and its receptivity. It will make a play area for children, organize sporting events and become a base for amateur activities. The green area in front of the kiosk will be equipped with sunbeds as well as two areas with sofas. Both breakfasts and aperitifs with cocktails and snacks will be available in the structure. The venue will also be modernized according to the principles of eco-sustainability and energy efficiency ». The mayor then expresses satisfaction with the conclusion of the long dispute with complaints, which had returned the property of the structure to the Municipality in 2018. The work of the offices for the preparation of the first notice was then followed. Even in that case, however, the management had not satisfied the Municipality.

«The structure – Carisio just remembers – was more closed than open». The minority councilor Emiliano Bollo is also satisfied: «I am pleased with the outcome of this troubled affair. I believe that having worked on the issue is keeping the interest alive and that having personally sought competent subjects interested in taking over the management of the kiosk (including future managers) has led to what we hope will be a profitable enhancement of one of the corners most beautiful of the lake. I conclude by pointing out that there is a decisive difference between a constructive public debate (always based on proven arguments) and sterile polemics that are not part of our acting as a group to advise in any world ».
