Not so. “Did you see he was going to kick me in the head?” Massimo Adriatici, the councilor of Voghera who killed Youns El Boussettaoui in front of a bar a week ago, appears in a video unearthed by the La Presse news agency, taken a few minutes after the arrival of the carabinieri on the spot, and perhaps there man you just shot is still alive. And what are you doing, Adriatici, instead of sitting quietly in a corner? He participates in the investigation, in fact he asks questions to the witnesses, who seem more upset than he appears. To one he asks that very question, which could be translated as follows: “Did you see that I was in grave danger, and that I had to shoot?”. A false step, one would say, as long as the video is genuine, but there the Pavia prosecutor will take care of it.

All this contrasts with the line of defense adopted so far by Adriatici, who is also a criminal lawyer, as well as councilor for security of the Municipality of Voghera in the Lega quota. At first, and precisely to the carabinieri who arrived on the spot, he said that he had shot and fell to the ground, after being attacked by the Moroccan – who was unarmed, and was also an obvious psychiatric patient -, and on record he declared “a shot, I don’t know how “. His semi-automatic Beretta had a shot in the barrel, as always and as he also explained under interrogation, because he did so during his solitary patrols in the city, when he went to clubs to ask if everything was okay, if there was something or someone to report.

But questioned by the judge for preliminary investigations, who validated the house arrest, Adriatici changed his version: “I was confused, I don’t remember the moment of the shot. I had hit the head, I don’t remember”, the summary of his story . In this latest video, however, he appears anything but confused, but lucid (and according to La Presse, still armed). “How disgusting to see a suspect inside a crime scene, handling it as he sees fit,” the victim’s family lawyers commented indignantly. And in fact, it is surprising that the carabinieri on the spot did not stop him.

In the order of the investigating judge Lapi which validates his arrest, the danger of the suspect is underlined, and also the possibility of evidence pollution (but the judge did not know about these shots, which emerged only yesterday). “What happened showed how imprudent this behavior of the suspect was at least”, referring to the habit of shooting armed and with a shot in the barrel. “He has not been able to manage the excitement and stress of a critical situation, so much so as to induce him to shoot at an unarmed man”, he continued. And this despite “the professionalism of the suspect, for years in law enforcement, and criminal expert, law enforcement instructor, experience on the basis of which the man should have been able to discern the risk actually taken and the values who was called to balance in this situation “. The judge concluded by deciding “a measure that temporarily but profoundly limits the freedom of movement for a person who, by his own admission, has declared, in fact, that he is unable to manage it without serious risks for the community”. In fact, that license for personal defense will not be renewed, at least that. His defenders have decided to appeal to the court of review, or of freedom, against the precautionary measure: “There is in no way the danger of a repeat of the crime”.
