Coach is Gianlorenzo Blengini, from Salassa, also technical commissioner of the Italian men’s volleyball team
For Gianlorenzo (Chicco) Blengini comes a new triumph as a volleyball coach. On the evening of Saturday 24 April he led his team, Lube Macerata, to the conquest of the men’s volleyball championship by winning game four at home against Sir Safety Conad Perugia for 3-1 (25-20; 25-22; 21-25; 25 -21).
The red and white then won the final play-off series 3-1.
Blengini, who lives in Salassa, is 49 years old. Currently, in addition to being the coach of the Macerata team, he is the technical commissioner of the Italian men’s volleyball team. In his long career on the bench he obtained as a national team two silvers at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2006 and at the World Cup in Japan in 2015 and a third place in the 2015 Europeans played between Italy and Bulgaria.
At the club level, three league titles and three Italian cups, a world club championship and a champions league.
