The Municipality of Volpiano, through the video surveillance system with high-definition mobile cameras, which can be positioned on places to be monitored for short periods of time and allow people and vehicles to be recognized even at night, has identified, in recent weeks, 15 cases of abandonment of waste and some acts of vandalism; those responsible were reported to the judicial authority for appropriate measures and sanctions. The administration plans to further implement its video surveillance system with the activation of new points and the connection between the municipal police and the carabinieri, and to increase the cameras for reading license plates in other intersections in addition to the one already monitored. Comments the mayor of Volpiano Emanuele De Zuanne: “In the last six years huge resources have been invested for the purchase of both mobile and fixed cameras to combat the abandonment of waste and the surveillance of sensitive points, such as assets confiscated from crime organized, and in the renewal of the system, now active for 15 years; in addition, the municipal police officers were equipped with body cams and street control, equipment that allows the offices to sanction various types of behaviors, from violations of the highway code to the age-old problem of dog excrement, up to vandalism and insult to a public official “.
