The weather is fine during the New Year’s Day holiday, and the park welcomes the New Year and Winter Olympics with a warm atmosphere. On the first day of the new year, many tourists climbed to the Wanchun Pavilion, the highest point in Jingshan Park, to welcome the first rays of dawn in 2022. During the holidays, the snow field in Taoranting Park, Zizhuyuan Park, Yuyuantan Park and the ice rink in the Summer Palace welcome many tourists to participate in winter sports. Snow and ice projects such as flying saucers, ice carts, and ice slides are sought after by tourists.
In addition to ice and snow venues, Beijing’s municipal parks have carried out extensive theme activities to help the Beijing Winter Olympics. Xiangshan Park launched the “Passionate Winter Olympics, Civilized “Scented” Appointment” activity, set up Winter Olympics theme publicity panels, and popularized the Beijing Winter Olympics theme slogans, mascots and emblems to tourists. Yuyuantan Park carried out the theme promotion activities of “Science to Know the Winter Olympics, Welcome New Year and Send Blessings” at the ice and snow event, and held a series of exhibitions on the theme of “Welcome to the Winter Olympics” in the “Jade and Light” gallery. The Chinese Garden Museum held a photo exhibition of Winter Olympics knowledge and opened Winter Olympics classes. Gold medal volunteers and small garden lecturers told visitors about the Beijing Winter Olympics and the cultural knowledge of ice and snow sports in the gardens.
The relevant person in charge of the Beijing Park Management Center said that the ice rink of Beihai Park, Taoranting Park, Zizhuyuan Park, Yuyuantan Park and the snow field of the Summer Palace will be opened in early January depending on the weather conditions.
