The war in Ukraine has made the role of the radio central again. Through the radio, in fact, it is possible to intercept the conversations of Russian soldiers, who often use unencrypted signals for their communications. Furthermore, broadcasters such as the BBC have started broadcasting their news programs on shortwave again, to circumvent censorship. Finally there is the case of number station: stations, legacy of the cold war, which transmit mysterious sequences of numbers, apparently incomprehensible, and which seem to be back in vogue in this conflict.
