Wolf night raid in Lasen, killed two sheep in the village

The enclosure with small French sheep is located near the houses. Found wounded but alive a small ram

FELTRE. A sheep and a ram killed and another small ram wounded in the raid that took place between the houses of Lasen, in Piazza Val dei Morti.

Few doubts that it was the wolf: Bruno De Paoli, a pensioner who runs a small farm out of passion, yesterday morning found his two dead sheep – one completely devoured – and the little one injured.

“The wolf bit me a sheep and a ram, killing them,” explains De Paoli. «Animals that I kept as a hobby, they are sheep of a rather rare French breed, of small size. I had placed them in an enclosure near the square and the “casel”: there in the middle of the houses I thought they were safe. But the fences are not enough with the wolf, who is able to jump them. And when I went upstairs to check, I found the sheep and the ram dead. One ate it completely, the other just killed it. He also injured a small ram, I found him terrified, let’s hope he survives, I asked for the veterinarian’s help ».

It was therefore a bad surprise that De Paoli found himself early yesterday morning, when he went to check his sheep.

“I never imagined such a thing would happen to me,” he shakes his head, “I’m retired, I take care of animals as a hobby and to keep the ground clean, but now I’m disgusted and angry. At this point I get rid of the farm and let everything go down the drain ».

De Paoli, yesterday morning, left the house as always around 7.30 and immediately went to the sheep pen near the square. Finding the signs of predation that occurred during the night.

“Nobody in the neighborhood has heard anything, on the other hand there is talk of small animals, weighing twenty kilos each,” he explains. “Somewhere else I have other animals, a cow with a calf and two donkeys, and I’m always there with the terror of something happening. Now I have to lock them in the stable in the evening and free them only during the day ».
