On September 29, Hubei officials announced that recently, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China approved Guo Yuanqiang as a member and standing committee member of the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and secretary of the Wuhan Municipal Party Committee.
At the end of April, Wang Zhonglin, Member of the Standing Committee of the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Wuhan Municipal Party Committee, became the Deputy Secretary of the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Provincial Government. He became the Governor of Hubei Province in May.
Since then, the post of Secretary of the Wuhan Municipal Party Committee has been vacant. Who will take over is highly anticipated.

On August 25, a report in the “Hubei Daily” showed that Ma Guoqiang, the former secretary of the Wuhan Municipal Party Committee, had been a member of the Party Group of the Standing Committee of the Hubei Provincial People’s Congress.
The outside world believes that the four senior officials mentioned above have all been transferred to idle positions. In particular, Zhou Xianwang, who had not reached his retirement age, was transferred to an unemployed post. It was considered by the outside world to be “settling accounts” by the CCP.
