(ANSA) – ROME, DEC 08 – Giulio Regeni returns to embrace Patrick Zaki, in a reworking of the iconic work by Street Artist Laika, on the same wall where she first appeared in 2020.

In the night between 7 and 8 December, in fact, the artist is toned at Villa Ada, in Rome, near the entrance of the Egyptian embassy to post a new poster with the same protagonists. This time, however, Zaki no longer wears the prison uniform but is always protected by the embrace of Giulio Regeni who tells him: “We’re almost there”, and the student asks him to hold him again. In front of the two, then, the Arabic word “innocent” is depicted in yellow.

“Patrick was released yesterday from the prison where he was locked up since February 2020. He is not yet formally free but it is certainly a very important step forward – said Laika – Now we have to keep our attention even higher. Zaki must be cleared of all charges. and be definitively free.
