In May, Ningbo’s total import and export volume reached 109.98 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.6%; of which the export value was 70.69 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9%, and the import value was 39.29 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.2%.
From January to May, private enterprises were the main import and export force in the city, with a total import and export volume of 364.56 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.7%, accounting for 70.9% of the city’s total import and export volume during the same period.
The EU, the US and ASEAN are Ningbo’s top three trading partners. From January to May, Ningbo’s imports and exports to the EU, the United States and ASEAN were 95.01 billion yuan, 93.23 billion yuan and 58.95 billion yuan respectively, up 18.9%, 21.4% and 17.3% year-on-year respectively. The three together accounted for Ningbo’s total foreign trade during the same period. of 48.1%.
In addition, Ningbo’s total imports and exports to countries and regions along the “Belt and Road” reached 148.41 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.1%, accounting for 28.9% of Ningbo’s total imports and exports during the same period; The import and export volume of member countries reached 131.13 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.8%, accounting for 25.5% of Ningbo’s total import and export during the same period.
