Rome, 24 June 2022 – I am already two states to have announced the ban on abortion after the US Supreme Court canceled the historic sentence ‘Roe versus Wade’, which he had for nearly half a century abortion allowed within 24 weeks of pregnancy. The Attorney General of the Missouri announced that this conservative state at the center of the US has become the “first” to ban voluntary termination of pregnancy. “This is a monumental day for the sanctity of life,” tweeted Eric Schmitt along with an image of him ratifying the text. There was only one clinic in Missouri that practiced voluntary termination of pregnancy.
Schmitt is echoed by the attorney general of Texas, Ken Paxton, arguing that abortion is illegal with immediate effect here too. Paxton points out that those facilities that offer abortions can be considered “criminally liable as of today”.
On the other hand, the free states California, Oregon e Washington they launched a joint initiative to defend the right to abortion. “A multi-state commitment to defend access to reproductive health, including abortion and contraceptive systems, and have pledged to protect patients and doctors against efforts by other states to export their termination bans to our States”.
