Acuña Jr leaves the lineup due to knee pain

The Most Valuable Player of the National League, Venezuelan Ronald Acuña Jr, is dealing with pain in his right knee and left the lineup for the game against the Orioles in the preseason

The actual Most valuable Player from National League, the Venezuelan Ronald Acuña Jr was erased from the alignment of the Atlanta Braves on Friday, due to pain in the right knee.

The Braves said Acuña Jr was sent for further evaluation of the knee and hope to have an update on his status on Saturday.

“I don’t think it’s anything,” manager Brian Snitker told reporters, according to MLB.com. “It’s probably one of those things that if this was the season [regular], he would play. “But we wanted them to analyze whether it is enough that he said it.”

Acuña Jr tore the anterior cruciate ligament in the same knee in 2021.

The Venezuelan outfielder participated in Atlanta’s spring game on Thursday against the Minnesota Twins, but injured his knee during a run. He was able to take batting practice before Friday’s matchup against the Baltimore Orioles before being knocked out.

Acuña Jr is coming off a monster 2023, in which he became the first baseball player with a 40-70 record thanks to 41 home runs and 73 steals, leading the National League. He also led the National League in on-base percentage (.416), OPS (1.012), hits (217) and runs scored (149).
