Agreement between Pordenone and Di Carlo on the home straight

The Lovisa will have the new black-green coach sign a two-year contract. The president confirmed the return of Burrai who will become the new captain

PORDENONE. First there was contact. Then the parties continued the talks by confronting each other. Now it is close to the conclusion of the deal. Domenico Di Carlo is ever closer to the Pordenone bench. The coach, under contract with Vicenza until June, will free himself from the “Lane” and will soon sign with the neroverdi.

A meeting between the parties is expected in these days. The agreement will be on a two-year basis and will certainly include second-in-command Claudio Valigi and athletic trainer Lorenzo Riela. The other roles must then be evaluated. Waiting to close the current cadet championship, this will be the technical team with Mauro Lovisa’s club will restart from Serie C.

Mister Bruno Tedino, together with his collaborators, will certainly not remain at De Marchi. The management has already made the choice of him and has made it clear that it does not intend to renew the agreement with the coach and his staff, which expires in June. For the new adventure in Lega Pro the director of the technical area Matteo Lovisa has decided to go to a figure who, in the category, has always won.

Di Carlo, born in 1964, a native of Cassino, took part twice in the Serie C championship, winning in both cases the promotion: it happened with Mantova in C1 in 2005 and with Vicenza in C unica in 2020, in the championship closed at February due to the Covid-19 pandemic. From the experience of Mantua, the coach has always worked between Serie B and A, also guiding Sampdoria in the Champions League preliminaries and in the Europa League group in 2010. He does not lack experience and skills, as well as the leadership to be heard by everyone and keep the right distances.

Pordenone, waiting for news on the stadium front, gives an important signal to the square. Show ambitions for victory, aim for the ascent to the higher category. The idea is to give Di Carlo a competitive team, in which the fulcrum is Salvatore Burrai, director born in 1987, at De Marchi from 2016 to 2020 and now leader of Perugia. There is a willingness to offer him a multi-year contract. And it is very likely that he will also be offered the captain’s armband.

“Yes, it is very likely that he will come back to us,” President Lovisa said about it. Among the “big” owners, however, it is not excluded that Gianvito Misuraca remains, who ended the season on loan at Bari (and with whom he conquered the leap to Serie B). The midfielder still has a one-year contract with the neroverde club: we want to evaluate his physical condition in retirement.

Simone Magnaghi, a striker who has already won Serie B with Pordenone in 2019 and who closed the Serie B group of Serie C with 16 goals, will return – to stay – from the loan to Pontedera. He was the third scorer in the group. The top scorer was the Friulian from Latisana Luca Zamparo with 18 goals.
