Agustín Lozano wishes Ricardo Gareca success with the Chilean National Team

On Thursday, January 25, the president of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), Agustín Lozano, held a press conference with the captains of Alianza Lima, Universitario, and Sporting Cristal to announce the new name of the national championship: League 1 Apuesta. During the press conference, Lozano also commented on the arrival of Ricardo Gareca as the new coach of the Chilean National Team, wishing him success in his new role.

“We all found out from the news. Ricardo is a professional like all of us. You have to wish him the best. Undoubtedly when he plays against Peru we cannot wish him the same, but good for him and his family. These things happen in football and today we have him in front as a rival,” the leader told the media.

Lozano also provided details about the Inca team’s upcoming friendlies against Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, confirming that the matches will be played at the Alejandro Villanueva and Monumental Stadium.

Additionally, he mentioned that the rivals for the FIFA date in June have not yet been chosen, but it is likely that these matches will be played in the United States due to the team’s participation in the Copa América.

In relation to the new name of League 1, Lozano assured that there will be many changes and that they will continue working with the Government to maintain the Peruvian tournament stadiums in optimal conditions.

“Always and welcoming you to Te Apuesta. We believe that we are ready to start a different journey, but with many improvements. “We are going to try to maintain constant communication with the Government so that the stadiums can be maintained with the same quality and maintenance until the end,” he stated.
