VOLPIANO

Who gets off to a good start is half the battle. So goes an old proverb, so was also the motto coined by Volpianese in B1 female and Alto Canavese in B male. Both teams in fact started the 2021/2022 season by obtaining a convincing 3-1 home victory, respectively against Libertas Biella and Zephyr La Spezia.

Valentina Re, 25 years old student from Ivrea and band of the Volpianese she is very satisfied with the first three points against Libertas Biella: «It is never easy to start a new season and win immediately at the debut – explains Re -. Many of us were at the first with a new club and a new manager and, despite everything, we managed to do our best and take home the first three points. We trained a lot in the pre-season and we wanted to get off to a good start right away: in the first two sets, especially at the beginning, we immediately interpreted the match well and in moments of difficulty we were good at reacting and finding the key and winning. So it was not in the third set and it is precisely from this aspect that we want to work to improve in the next games. On Sunday we will go to Orago, in the Varese area, where we will face a young team, but willing to do well in a very difficult championship like B1, then we will have the Sassari of Palau at home and Trecate again away. The Novara team are the only team I faced with the Lilliput shirt from Settimo Torinese last year and they are a team not to be underestimated, while in the following round the Bra will want to avenge the defeat they suffered against us last year ».

The band of the A. is also satisfied with the first victorylto Canavese Andrea Grosjacques, 32 years old teacher from Aosta: «We wanted to start this season on the right foot and we did it, showing good things especially in blocking-defense. We did a lot of joint training to get into shape as soon as possible and we are very happy to have beaten a team we didn’t know much about – says Grosjacques -. The fact of not knowing the opponents much from a certain point of view makes us curious and motivates us to always be focused on every detail of the game, on the other psychologically it takes away a lot of pressure. In the next four games we will face three other Ligurian teams: on Saturday we will have Colombo Genova, then at home we will host Cus Genova. On the fourth day we will go to Alessandria against Novi Ligure, while on the fifth day the Genoese from Lavagna will arrive at PalaCuorgnè. Most of them are young teams, an aspect that should not be underestimated, as we know very well ». –
