Alto Canavese pride, but the dream ends in Bergamo

The dream of the Alto Canavese of being able to go all the way and thus conquer the men’s A3 series stops in the playoff semifinal. The Cuorgnatese team is beaten 3-0 also in the return match by the orobici of Scanzorosciate, after having already lost the first leg 1-3 and thus ending the season prematurely.

An undertaking that was already very difficult on the eve of the match, but despite this the Alto Canavese that we saw in Lombardy was anything but compliant. Already in the first set the Cuorgnatese team tries to make their intentions understood right away, that is to try to make a great game and turn the situation around.

The sida is point to point and neither team ever manages to make the decisive break. So we go to the advantages and to win it are the hosts of Scanzorosciate, who win the partial 29-27, thanks to a better attack in the final. The same script also in the second fraction, with the Alto Canavese keeping up with the hosts, also managing to be ahead in the score by four points (13-17), a good margin if it were not that Scanzorosciate managed to recover, point by point and to bring the challenge back to the advantages and, as in the previous set, to still have the better, always 29-27.

At this point, with two sets won, the Bergamo players have conquered the point they needed to go to the final and in the third fraction, mentally the Alto Canavesani, mathematically already eliminated, are discharged. And they come out of the competition with their heads held high. –
