Andrea Barp turns the page. After the experience with Rugby Feltre, who chose to entrust himself to the guidance of Federico Coppa, the coach from Feltre will dedicate himself to Ana Atletica Feltre as a technician.
In reality it is not really new, given that in one way or another Barp has been dedicating himself to the club that takes care of athletics in the Feltre area for twenty-six years. It is he himself who explains the details of this change.
«With Rugby Feltre it was probably time to take a break, but there were no problems and maybe in the future I don’t rule out being able to collaborate with them again. The friendship remains unchanged with the whole group. As for the Ana Feltre, however, it is certainly not new. As soon as I finished the Isef I started training with them. The last three years I have worked less; especially when I went to train the Tarvisium team. I attended the training camp, I helped out by being more of a counselor than a coach, which instead I have returned to do now. When I went to Treviso, in fact, I had to make a choice to be able to operate in the best possible way. It must also be said that for many years I have been involved in the Ana Atletica Feltre and Rugby Feltre at the same time as well as taking care of the preparation of some football teams ».
What are the reasons that led you to return as a coach?
«Ana Feltre has always had excellent athletes who have participated in the national stages. Furthermore, this year we are returning to participate in the national phase of the club championships with some girls from the Pupils category. So there is a good movement: let’s see how the results are going and we hope to continue to bring the boys closer to athletics. From an individual point of view it remains an interesting sport ».
Which age group will it follow?
“I am available for any substitutions in the youth categories, but let’s say that I concentrate more in the Absolute category”.
How did you find your new athletes?
“Actually, having never left the environment, I knew all the boys, so there are no surprises. Obviously, if I think back to how the situation was twenty years ago, things have changed a bit. What is certain is that if the athletes change compared to a time, this also allows us to grow ».
How was he received by the new guys?
«In general I believe that with athletes the most important need is to make themselves known. When they feel followed and see that they have a prepared person in front of them, they have no problem welcoming him well. On a personal basis, I want to emphasize that, from the point of view of experiences, I still have a lot to learn and it is always important to question oneself and want to grow. In this way, those who revolve around the technician also grow. These are essential components for both a student and a coach ».
Will it be a world where he can find new satisfactions?
«In athletics there is a lot of talk about personal results on a particular specialty. When a boy reaches his personal best, that is to say he manages to improve the limit he had before, the sportsman is satisfied and so is the technician. Then in the various cases it is necessary to personalize a little, because everyone has a different experience and experience, both from a physical and emotional point of view. The athlete who gave me the most satisfaction is Enrico Tirel, a 1993 class who participated in the junior world championships and who in his battery had set his personal record on that occasion and it was a good result for everyone ».
