Apu, Pieri is coming: he will be the third long behind Walters and Pellegrino

UDINE. A center of high hopes to complete the roster. The transfer agreement is in the pipeline that will bring the 2002 pivot Marco Pieri from Pallacanestro Trieste to the Apu Old Wild West on loan. An operation along the lines of those that last season brought Lodovico Deangeli and Matteo Schina to Juventus.

Pieri is a player with a considerable size (he is 208 centimeters tall) and he grew up basketball in the Bor. In 2018 he joined Pallacanestro Trieste and split between Serie D and Under 18 Excellence. In the summer of 2020 he carried out athletic training with Allianz Trieste, and then continued his path with the Under 18 Excellence team from Trieste and the C Silver series with the College Fvg shirt.

An opportunity exploited in the best way, so much so that in July the call for the meeting with the National Under 20 team arrived in Roseto degli Abruzzi. In blue Pieri found Matteo Schina but above all he worked with the technical director of APU Alberto Martelossi, assistant to coach Vertemati.

From what comes what, and here is the contact that in the coming days will lead to the definition of Pieri’s loan in Udine, where he will be the third long after Walters and Pellegrino.

In the roster he will occupy one of the two places for the under: the other “baby” will be Riccardo Azzano, already in the first team in the 2020/21 season. On balance, therefore, Boniciolli has the twelve men to set up the new season starting from 16 August.

The thirteenth should be Mussini, but everything will depend on the evolution of the rehabilitation path after the operation on his right knee.
