Apu, Walters can be a victim of turnover

With the return of Antonutti, one of the eleven of the roster is destined for the grandstand: the pivot, not at its best, possible excluded in Biella

UDINE. The return of Antonutti to the group after two months of absence makes the turnover problem at the Apu Old Wild West home once again from Sunday’s match in Biella. With eleven senior players on the roster and ten places on the scoresheet, one of them, regulation in hand, will have to observe his teammates from the stands.

In yesterday’s training session Brandon Walters worked in part with the athletic trainer Luigino Sepulcri. We continue on the line of caution, even if the knee injury does not worry. In the next few hours the technical staff will make the necessary assessments: if Walters does not give ample guarantees of employment, he could be the sacrificed one.

Looking further, the management of turnover could be a puzzle. In the external sector, where there is plenty, Mussini and Nobile could be risking the grandstand, but both are playing at excellent levels. In the wings sector, the turnover could concern Esposito and Ebeling, under the magnifying glass since the beginning of the season. Their yield, however, has also been growing in the last period. For this reason it is probable that the choice, from game to game, will be made based on the state of form of the individual and the characteristics of the opponent on duty.

Managing the turnover at APU is nothing new for coach Boniciolli, who had to exclude a senior player from the scoresheet already during the play-offs of last season, when Fabio Mian was hired. Amato’s frequent injuries, however, reduced the number of matches in which turnover was necessary to six: Mobio sat in the stands four times, Deangeli twice.
